I’ve mentioned on my social media that my Kindle Vella story, The Uncertainty of Fire, has now all episodes (except for the epilogue) available. If you prefer to binge read rather than waiting for episodes to release weekly, then you’ll want to get started. The epilogue should be released sometime this week (that’s my plan, but shouldn’t be later than next week). You can always try the first three episodes of any Kindle Vella story for free. And if you are a new reader to the platform, be sure to cash in on the 200 free tokens, which will give you an additional 10 episodes of my story for free. (Some readers have said that they’ve been given 500 free tokens, but I’ve not been able to confirm that and I don’t know how Amazon awards that).

This story has been sitting in the 80s on the top 250 favorite stories on Kindle Vella for the past week. So if you decide to give it a try and pay for tokens, I would love your vote if you feel the story deserves it. Even paying for one episode and voting could help keep the story on the faves until the end of the month. And since I’ll no longer be posting new episodes, I don’t expect that it will stay on the list past December. Or at least not past mid-January. If you are taking advantage of the free tokens, and decide to read on, by my calculations, buying the 1100 tokens for $9.99 should get you all the way to the end, maybe with tokens to spare. And should you need recommendations for other stories to use any additional tokens on, I have lots of suggestions.

This has been a whirlwind of a publishing journey. Some friends have called me pioneering and brave. It doesn’t feel that way to me, but I appreciate that people think that. I haven’t decided whether I will continue to publish on Vella, mostly because momentum is almost as important as consistency. Right now, my second story isn’t ready. It might be good motivation to get it ready. I’m just not sure if I’d write fast enough to post consistently. But I’m praying about it.
